Ayush is a Sydney-based freelance photographer specialising in sport, music, and major events.

Originally from Jamshedpur, India, his career began in 2018 as Club Photographer for Jamshedpur FC, where his shot of Tim Cahill’s unveiling went viral after the Australian legend used it as his profile picture. In 2019, Ayush moved to Australia and completed a Bachelor of Business (Sports Management) with electives in photojournalism, image design, and photomedia — fusing sport and storytelling from the outset.

Since then, he has become the in-house photographer for Accor Stadium, CommBank Stadium, and Industree Group Stadium (polytec Stadium) while also freelancing regularly for Getty Images and Agence France-Presse (AFP), with his work published worldwide. His lenses have captured elite sport at every level, including assignments for the A-Leagues and the NRL at their respective Grand Finals. His portfolio features some of the biggest names in sport including Virat Kohli, Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, Frank Lampard, Ronaldinho, Dani Alves, Juan Mata, as well as iconic teams such as FC Barcelona, the Indian Cricket Team, and the Australian Cricket Teams.

When he’s not pitch-side or courtside, Ayush is stage-side — covering concerts for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N’ Roses, Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, Harry Styles, A.R. Rahman, Diljit Dosanjh, and Yo Yo Honey Singh. His client list extends to TEG, Live Nation, Frontier Touring, Cricket NSW, NFL Australia, Hockey NSW, VenuesLive, and Venues NSW.

In parallel, Ayush completed a Master of Teaching (Secondary) in 2025 and now teaches at schools across New South Wales in subjects ranging from history and geography to business and commerce. Between lesson plans, camera bodies, and an army of batteries and hard drives, he has learned that both teachers and photographers live by the same rule: always have a backup!

A five-time finalist at the World Sports Photography Awards (2020–2024), including a Special Merit in 2024 in the Rugby category, Ayush continues to chase the moments that outlast batteries, memory cards, and hard drives alike!
